The central motif is a capital S with a crown or coronet above.  \r\n\r\nThe finger ring is similar in style and shape to signet rings in the British Museum\u2019s collections and they are dated to the early 16th century (Dalton 1912 pl VI).\r\n\r\nDimensions: Diameter: 27.84mm; length of bezel: 13.24mm; width of bezel: 11.92mm; thickness: 3.50mm; weight: 12.23g.\r\n\r\nIdentification by Hazel Forsyth, Senior Post Medieval Curator, Museum of London.\r\n\r\nReference: Dalton, O.
