This point has been made from a metatarsal (hind foot) possibly from a cervid. The bone’s morphology has been used to give this point its triangular fluted cross-section. The bone was shaped using a flint tool leaving characteristic striations. It has snapped at an angle across the shaft. Alan Pipe suggests that it snapped during use rather than post deposition.

Dimensions: length: 159.83mm; width: 11.65mm; thickness: 11.05mm; weight: 19.76g.

"datefound1":"2008-11-01","datefound2":null
"numdate1":"-3500","numdate2":"100
A Prehistoric, probably Neolithic – Iron Age bone point (3500BC – 100AD).
