A silver object, undiagnostic and undateable.

Museum of London Conservation

The material tested negative for lead, positive for tin and silver, it is not common to get the two together.

Description

The find consists of a thick, flat, sub-triangular fragment, which has tested positive for silver and tin; length, 51 mm. One face bears shallow, circular hammer impressions.

It is undiagnostic and undatable, so does not qualify as Treasure under the stipulated criteria of the Treasure Act.
