Axehead

Unique ID: LON-B2D335

Object type certainty: Certain

A Neolithic flint fragment of a polished axe-head (3500-2100B). Of this axe-head only the distal end remains and there is some damage and a large flake is missing from one surface. The axe-head has a pointed oval cross-section and the surface is completely polished with no trace of the flake removal process. There is also no evidence of use-wear, suggesting this axe-head was not used before its deposition.
