The axe is complete, and shows no evidence of wear. The socket is sub-square in section with moulding around the opening and a loop at the top. There is some iron-like corrosion around the loop, but this may be a result of particular soil conditions that makes bronze corrosion emulate iron corrosion. The body and blade of the axe flare outward from the socket to a fan-shaped blade.
