A fairly small flint Acheulian handaxe of a white-grey flint dating to the Lower Palaeolithic. It is sub-cordate in shape, but seemingly incomplete, missing it tip. The object has a shallow S-shaped profile. It is covered by removals, particularly along its edges. These have been somewhat smoothed by water action. Removals in the lower half of the axe towards the butt end make it ergonomic in the hands of the author (a right-handed person). There are large areas of white patination, with underlying dark grey, and areas of light grey, perhaps stained slightly by iron in places.
