1 sherd of late medieval to early post-medieval sandy wares. These are difficult to distinguish from the earlier West Dorset Sandy wares and are likely to be a later development of those industries. The fabric is oxidised orange with a reduced grey core. Fairly smooth, fine fabric tempered with fine sand. Unglazed. A flat topped rim sherd with a slight external overhang, probably from a jar. The sherd is abraded. Date: Late Medieval to Early Post-Medieval - 14th to 16th century Weight: 11 g Identified with guidance and notes from Lorraine Mepham
