A lead alloy musket ball. The shot is Spherical .it has a diameter of 16.9mm.the ball has a pitted surface .the colour of the ball is creamy white.the patina is poor. It is post medieval and probably dates from 1644. Musket balls are discussed in Courtney's "Small Arms Accessories of the Mid-Seventeenth Century" (1988) and on page 202 of "Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition" by Geoff Egan (2005).
