Cast copper alloy book clasp, length 32mm, width 12mm thickness 4mm, weight 4.08g. This is a clasp of Howsam's type A.2, cast in one piece with a forked spacer plate. The clasp part is thick and rounded with a vertical hole in the centre (3mm diameter), the terminal consists of a tall narrowing animal head that has a horizontal (side to side) hole (2mm diameter). There is a bold transverse ridge separating the clasp part from the forked spacer. The copper alloy sheets which would have been soldered to the spacer are missing.
