WEIGHT

Unique ID: LIN-7D2361

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find waiting to be validated

Bun shaped lead weight. The weight is circular in plan and decorated with possibly three symbols evenly spaced around the side wall. The surface of the weight is worn and consequently the symbols are hard to read, but look somewhat like the runes ansur, dagar and opila. The 'opila' rune looks like a fish in profile, and the addition of a vertical line down where the gill would be may mean that this is a picture rather than a rune.

The object is of uncertain date and there is no further provenance details other than 'Lincolnshire' to aid identification.
