Lithic implement
Unique ID: LIN-162204
Object type certainty: Certain
Palaeolithic flint axe. The axe is roughly triangular in plan and in cross-section, with flakes taken off both dorsal and ventral surfaces. The fragment is from the top end however the tip is missing. The butt is gentley curved and looks as if it could be original rather than reworking of a break, which would make the axe rather small. The flint is Lincolnshire Wolds flint, being mid-grey in colour with patches of iron staining.
