A small fragment from a cast copper alloy Roman plate brooch. The brooch is circular and flat, with no rim, only a small fragment survives. The brooch is undecorated. The catchplate survives on the reverse of the fragment but it is broken and worn. It has a smooth, even patina, which is a dark jade-green.
