This gold posy ring with d-shaped hoop has a plain exterior and is inscribed on the inside in lower case: "My happie choyce eT only ioy".
A similar inscription is recorded by Joan Evans in English Posies and Posy Rings (1931), but this reads "My hapie choys my secret ioy" and Evans does not give a dated source for it. This is a type which continued into the 18th century, and as it stands there is not enough evidence to confirm that it is pre-1707.
Inscription:
My happie choyce & only joy
