This circular mount for a stone, with petalled border, twisted wire and claw setting is unlikely to be earlier than the late 19th century. The fragmentary bar at the back suggests that it may have served as a sleeve or dress stud. It does not fall within the Treasure Act.

Notes:

This mount was reported as Treasure under the Treasure Act but was found to be post 1705 in date, so it was returned to the finder by order of the Coroner, with the landowners permission.
