A fragment of a Romano-British cosmetic mortar, only the temrinal loop and a fragment of the crescent-shaped bow now survives, the rest of this mortar is missing due to an old break. It measures 35.71mm in surviving length, 11.42mm in width across the bow and 11.08mm in depth across the bow. The bow has a central groove which is 3.39mm in depth. The terminal loop is chunky and projects downwards from the end of the bow at a circa 45 degree angle, Its outer face is decorated with cross-hatching and longitudinal and transverse grooves, it is not obviously zoomorphic. The bow also has traces of decoration in the form of incised lines.
