Early Medieval copper alloy small long brooch fragment, 45.3mm long, 25mm wide and 10.6mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 10.28 grams. The object consists of a rectangular headplate which is decorated with a border of incised circles, 1mm in diameter. There are two triangular notches in the lower edge, one on each side of the bow. The bow is short, curved and has a flat triangular shaped terminal on each edge, the point of which joins the central ridge which runs its length. Below this the object is flat and rectangular in form with three raised horizontal lines running across it. just below this the brooch has snapped. The reverse of this section contains a small sub triangular catch plate and the head plate has two, originally, semi-circular lugs near its base.
