Knife
Unique ID: SWYOR-135DD6
Object type certainty: Certain
A flint tool, a knife, probably dating from the late Neolithic. The knife is 48.3mm long, 15.1mm wide and 4.6mm thick. It is formed on a tertiary flake which is rounded at both ends. Both edges are retouched, but they are also extensively damaged. It is similar to a plano-convex knife on page 171 of “Prehistoric Flintwork” by Chris Butler (2005), but is less invasively worked. The flint is an opaque and patinated brownish grey colour.
