Irish style bowl of c.1880-1920 with moulded milling and an incuse stamp reading O'BRIEN / MAYO ST / DUBLIN facing the smoker. Popular style produced by many of the manufacturers in the north west. The stamp was part of a patriotic Irish theme and does not represent either an actual manufacturer or street in Dublin. Diameter of bowl, 27mm. Diameter of bore hole, 3mm. Height of bowl, 50mm.

I found the front half of the same pipe with the exact inscription as the above photo, I found it in South Africa, when visiting old block houses from the Boer War 1899-1902 near Wakkerstroom in Mpumalanga. I suggest that a British Soldier used it in the war.
