Post-Medieval lead figurine of a lady. It is similar to, but cruder than, the highly detailed Eizabethan hollow versions from London. It is significant as it is the first one of its series recorded outside of the capital.

The figurine is solid but has a small indent on the base. The lady is wearing a long dress and has her hands on her hips with her elbows bent. The head has been damaged and is bent forwards. The dress has some decoration in the form of vertical lines of pellets. From comparison with the London figurines she probably wears a headdress.

Notes:

See Toys, Trifles and Trinkets (2005), nos. 4.13-16 & 4.19, for examples of the finer ones from London.

Diameter of head- 16mm
