A cast lead bird cage trough or feeder. The vessel is complete but very distorted, and would originally have been D-shaped in section, flaring from the base, with a flanged rim. The object is undecorated, apart from a series of parallel bands, therefore could date to the late 15th- 17th century (decorated examples tend to be earlier in date). The metal surface is worn and has a mid brownish-grey patina.
