Copper-alloy hilt-plate from a knife handle. Basically pointed-oval in shape with one end squared off, one face has a rectangular hole for the whittle tang and the other has a slot, open at the squared end, for the blade. The edges around the slot are bevelled. 17 x 11 mm, and 10 mm thick.
