A cast ingot of lead (?lead alloy), of trapezoidal section and rectangular profile. The ingot measures 10.3mm by 22.9mm on its top (narrowest)surface, 31.7mm by 23.6mm on its lower (widest surface), and is 11.9mm thick. It weighs 67g.

Ingots were a convenient way in which to store and transport raw materials prior to their melting down for the manufacture of cast metal objects.

It is difficult to date such undiagnostic items, but lead ingots ('pigs') seem to have been particularly important in the Iron Age and Roman periods.
