Medieval buckle, D-shaped frame with knop at both ends of narrowed bar (17 x 21mm) retaining rectangular-sectioned pin and rectangular sheet plate (>28 x 14mm) folded widthways with pin-slot and recessed for frame, shortened and narrowed on reverse, broken at attachment end and pierced by iron rivet. Cf. Dress Accessories (1991) fig.59. 14th century.
