A medieval annular brooch. The frame forms a circular hoop, with a constriction for the pin and two globular knops which are set perpendicular to the pin. Both are decorated with stamped annulets. The pin is wrapped around the frame and tapers to a rounded point. The pin has a short flat transverse collar adjacent to the frame, which is also decorated with stamped annulets. The brooch is silver and dates from the late 13th - 14th century. Dimensions: 28.6mm (maximum diameter, including knops). Weight: 4.7g. Maureen Mellor and Naomi Payne April 2007

This brooch is a disclaimed Treasure find (reference 2006 T610) which was donated by the finders and landowners to Bruton Museum.
