<description>
<full>A complete probably handmade ceramic beaker, probably dating from the Post Medieval period, between AD 1600 – 1800 (length: 50mm; diameter at base: 40.5mm; weight: 43.72g).The beaker is sub&#45;cylindrical in shape with slanting walls that slope inwards to a smaller diameter of 29.5mm at the top of the vessel. There is also a handle protruding from the outside edge at the top of the artefact, which is square in plan and irregularly sub&#45;triangular in side section. Additionally, there is a pierced circular hole (diameter of hole: 7.5mm) in the centre of the handle that may have been used for suspension, possibly from a belt or hanging from a wall. The inside of the vessel is covered/ sealed with a light brown glaze, some of which appears around the outside rim of the vessel and a small amount down the outside edge where the glaze would have probably run during the firing process. The coarse hard&#45;fired fabric of the vessel is light orange/ beige in colour and appears to have numerous small grit inclusions. Overall, the beaker is in a slightly worn but good condition.</full>
