Decorated Roman trumpet brooch. Pierced lug incorporating a downward facing hook beneath on the back of the head would have held the spring, which is missing. Oval head with rim around outer edge defined by a roulletting. Plain, fully rounded waist moulding; lower bow decorated with a median rib and a rib on each outer edge. There are four punched annulets on one side of the lower bow beneath the waist moulding. The bow terminates with a moulded foot knob that it degraded due to corrosion. The catchplate is slightly degraded due to corrosion. Traces of tinning visible on all parts of the brooch.
