A cast copper-alloy strap slide, for holding down the free end of a strap. The frame is trapezoidal, and the narrowest side has a central hole through which there is a copper-alloy rivet with a flat pointed-oval head. The opposite side is domed in cross-section, with the exterior edge forming the domed surface. The other sides are sub-rectangular in section. The loop has a mid green/grey patina. It measures 14.73mm long, 13.64mm wide and 4.37mm thick. It weighs 1.45g.
Similar strap-slides are illustrated in Egan and Pritchard 2002, for example nos. 1249 and 1250, which are dated to the late 13th to 14th centuries.
