The socket is circular, becoming flat at the neck with an external diameter of 22.2mm (19.6mm internal). Slight damage near the base of the socket may have occurred around a single nail hole. The seam of the socket is open near the bottom and gradually converges, and is closed 75mm from the base. The socket has an internal depth of 91.5mm. The sides of the socket are straight and converge towards the blade. The blade has a length of 132mm with straight blade edges, which converge to the tip. The base of the blade has concave and diverging shoulders, producing a near lozenge-shaped blade. The blade is of lozenge section. The spearhead is in good condition with only minimal destructive corrosion along one of the blade edges. The blade has suffered a slight bend along its length. The spearhead weighs 127.0g \r\n","notes":"Medieval spearheads are known from castle sites, such as White Castle, Monmouthshire and Pant Asaph, Denbighshire.
