ARROWHEAD

Unique ID: WAW-3DE311

Object type certainty: Possibly
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A possible incomplete knapped flint arrowhead or flake. In plan the object is an inverted sub ‘V’ shape, with one arm longer than the other. The long arm, on the ventral surface has the bulb of percussion, with conchoidal ripples running obliquely across the flake. This area on the dorsal surface has possible re-touching around the edge and at the lower corner of the object. The second ‘arm is possibly incomplete The tip of the object has a small patch of white cortex. The flint is an opaque mid brown. It measures 35mm long and 27mm wide. It weighs 2.7g. The object is possibly a type of arrowhead but may be more likely to be a flake due to the lack of further re-touch, but this is not certain. The flake or arrowhead is probably prehistoric, possibly dating to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age (-3500 to -1500).
