Roughly triangular fragment of Medieval object with four ovoid apertures. The straight edge is original, while the other sides are not, with the breaks running across seven further apertures. There is a very slight curve so that with the straight edge levelled up the object appears to set at c.40° from the vertical. On the outer or convex face at the straight edge a rounded notch is flanked by a pair of slight protuberances. Rocker-arm engraving, now rather faint, is visible on the outer face. A very similar fragment from West Acre (HER 30821) was considered as perhaps from a ventilator or lantern. >32mm x >24mm. Maximum thickness 2mm.
