The pin has a globular decorated head covered with the ring and dot motif. The top of the pinhead is flattened with a central ring and dot. Below the pin head there is a small collar (a common characteristic of Anglo-Saxon pins) and the shaft tapers towards the end with a slight thickening about two thirds of the way down. The shaft has a 'V' shaped bend about half way down and the sharp tip of the pin is bent again.
