"113012","CAM-3793F4","00143737A4701C34","Sealing","","","24","","16","10","","1","","","ROMAN","43","410","A lead sealing dating to the Roman period. The sealing is approximately oval in shape and hemispherical in section. The sealing possesses a circular perforation running its width which would have originally secured the chord which attached the sealing to a package or document. On the upper flat surface of the sealing is a stamped rectangular panel. The raised letters AL[...]//VIA are visible within this panel. Roger Tomlin, Oxford University has commented that the logical interpretation of this inscription would be 'ALAE VI A[...]' although he knows of no known 'ala' in Britain. The sealing has a length of 24mm, a width of 16mm and a thickness of 10mm.","","","2005-11-10 16:50:15","2011-02-24 13:51:03","3","0","1","2005-10-01","","AL[...]//VIA","","","1","1","2","3","1","","","","","pjw","Philippa Walton","CAM","dpett","Daniel Pett","Lead","","","","Stamped","","","","Certain","ROMAN","","","Metal detector","","Dr Philippa Walton","Dr Roger Tomlin","Dr Philippa Walton","CAMBRIDGESHIRE","GODMANCHESTER","HUNTINGDONSHIRE","","","","TL2467","TL5226","TL26NW","","","","","","","From Finder","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","82568","CAM_3793F4.jpg","images/pjw/",
