Gold sheet object, finger-nail shaped. Slightly concave on one side (to be referred to as the reverse) with a flattened border around all but the straight side. The obverse is slightly convex, again with a narrow flattened border around all but the straight side, and decorated with numerous small trinagular peck marks. The straight edge appears to have been cut. There is o evidence for attachment. Length 24.61mm, width 14.58mm, thickness (bent, across straight sided end) 2.26mm, thickness (not bent, along length) c.1mm, weight 2.18g. british Museum Treasure Report: 2005 T321 A thin sheet of convex gold, roughly rectangular in shape with one rounded end. The reverse is blank but the obverse is decorated with about thirty-nine miniature triangles in relief placed randomly and innumerable ad-hoc scratches which are occasionally cross-hatched. All of the edges are rough and sharp.
The sheet measures 24mm in length and 14mm in width.
It is of indeterminate date, and, therefore, cannot be securely dated pre-1705. As such, it is not considered to constitute treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. J P Robinson Curator of Medieval Collections 5th April 2005" DECLARED NOT TREASURE
