Post-medieval lead alloy trefoil dress hook of Read 2008, early medieval single sharp-hooked clasp Class D, Type 6, with an integral attachment loop wrenched out of shape on the reverse and a copper alloy hook of which part of the shank survives. Very similar to, but larger than, ibid. no. 258 but with the each of the outer four pellets on the three bosses set within an annulet. Weight 16.15g. Length, excluding stump of hook, 31.3mm. Width 29.5mm. Thickness, excluding loop and hook housing, 4.5mm. 16th century.
